Privacy

Short version: AlignScan never receives your files. It is a static website and all processing happens in your browser.

Your 3D files

When you drop a file, the browser reads it from your disk into memory, a background script (Web Worker) analyses it, and the aligned file is produced in memory and handed back to you as a download. There is no upload endpoint on this site. The site's Content Security Policy also restricts network connections to its own host, so even a bug could not send your file elsewhere. You can verify this in your browser's developer tools (Network tab).

Analytics

If analytics are enabled, they use a cookieless, privacy-focused provider that does not track individuals across sites and stores no cookies on your device, so no cookie banner is needed. Only page views and a few named events (such as "file loaded" or "download") are counted. Never file names, sizes, contents or geometry.

Cookies and storage

AlignScan sets no cookies. It does not store your files or results in your browser.

Reporting a bad result

The "Report a bad result" button opens an email in your own mail app, pre-filled with anonymous diagnostics (triangle count, which alignment cues fired, confidence, timings). It contains no filename and no geometry, you can read it before sending, and nothing is sent unless you press send yourself. You may attach the scan if you choose to.

Outbound links

After a download, the site shows suggestions with links to other companies. Once you leave for those sites, their policies apply. Some links are affiliate links; see the affiliate disclosure.
